Chris Wilson is a registered nurse, attorney, and certified healthcare ethics consultant. As an ethicist with a background in both nursing and law, she assists people in making difficult health care decisions for themselves and others, in navigating our complex health care system, and by mediating and facilitating communication between patients, family members, and health care providers in addition to other areas of healthcare ethics consulting and advocacy. She is the founder of Community Healthcare Ethics, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing bioethics resources and support individuals and staff in post-acute, long-term care, and other places within the continuum of health care. Richard Weatherman
Richard Weatherman is truly the definition of a man of all trades and seasons. Harnessed with his unbridled passion and energy for helping others, Richard has been the visionary and leader of AdvantagePlusCaregivers.com® and Advantage Plus Franchisor, Inc. From the founding in 2006 (dba Advantage Plus Agency, Inc.) and evolution into becoming a franchisor and leader in the private duty in home care sector. Richard has been at the forefront of taking traditional in-home care services to higher standards with a technical and operationally efficient business model. Richard’s industry savvy and eye for attracting those of the same spirit in driving and focusing on business success has helped create an outstanding executive management team in every area including Operations, IT, Sales Marketing and Support. Richard has authored the “Elder Home Care Guide” to inform and prepare those in need of assistance in caring for loved ones at home. In the same spirit Richard founded the 501(c)(3) public charity “FoundationforSeniorServices.org” that operates as a centralized senior service organization that is designed to help many seniors in finding the resources, tools and support for senior care. Richard, with the support of his wife Cindy Park-Weatherman, give much of their personal time and assets for the benefit of others that could not otherwise do so. This is done in the essence of other great individuals and couples where money and wealth are not the only definition of success. Richard is truly “All about the Care”.
Lisa Grod, PhD CPG Geriatric Care Manager and Advocate Healthcare and Compliance Consultant
Lisa serves as a healthcare and compliance consultant. With more than 25 years of experience in the acute care sector, academia, and long-term care arenas, providing expertise in organizational leadership and team building, education and training programs, contract negotiation, risk management, mock surveys, and CHOW process. As a gerontologist, Lisa uses her skills to identify and assess cognitive levels of impairment and other dementias, including Alzheimer’s Dementia with her clients, and provides strategies and tools for families and caregivers to interact with those challenging moments with their loved ones. Geriatric care management, financial and billing expertise, reimbursement, and facility oversight are among some of Lisa’s focused consulting services as well. As a licensed nursing home administrator, Lisa has achieved a successful track record of positive state surveys with the California Department of Public Health, JCAHO accreditation, DVA, and Federal surveys.
Lisa earned her PhD in Organizational Leadership and Health and Human Services Leadership at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She holds a Masters in Gerontology Administration and Health Services Management from the University of La Verne. In addition to Lisa’s strong educational background, she also holds a Nursing Home Administrator License and a License for Residential Care For the Elderly. She is a member of NAPG and earned the title of Credentialed Professional Gerontologist. In 2008, Lisa was Governor’s appointee as the Administrator for the William J. “Pete” Knight Veteran’s Home in Lancaster, CA, using her expertise from opening a new building from the construction phase through licensing, hiring, and resident admissions. She is a member of the California Council for Gerontology and Geriatrics policy committee, the California Assisted Living Association Rapid Response Team, an advisory member for Advantage Plus Caregivers and is a member of the Foundation for Senior Services, CALTCM, and the Valley Senior Resource Network group.
