Food Assistance
Most communities have a number of different options for seniors who are struggling, these are in addition to any state-funded food programs. If a senior has a way to get around in their community, or has a loved one who can help them, then food pantries can be a big help to seniors by offering a variety of food, whereas seniors who have no available transportation or support structure are better served by programs that can deliver meals to them at home.

California has some great options such as CalFresh/SNAP which can be accessed with an EBT card.

Meals on wheels programs vary by location and may either have set fees, suggested donations or be free.
Grocery Delivery
Food delivery programs are available for those who find it hard to leave the house.
